In this day and age of people talking the talk about the Google Dance, The Google Sandbox and the latest Google Jumble called "Bourbon", you need all the help you can get on Google.   Who knows if these things really exist, but it stands to reason what with all the websites being bounced, de-listed, filtered and de-ranked on Google.

We aren't even sure if Page Rank or inbound links mean anything anymore....  If anyone tells you they know for sure, just smile and slowly back away, because they must be insane or out to get your money.

The changes on Google are probably for two reasons; Adsense and Black Hats.  Translated, they want to sell you ads and secondly, restrict the spammers who resort to trickery and cheating to get to the top of Google.  Course, it's Google that has made us... UH.. I mean those blackhats, resort to pushing the envelope.

Personally, I and others think that Google missed the mark; as they have filtered out highly relative, good websites.  It's more likely that they've done this on purpose, due to the fact that Google hasn't become the number one search engine by making bad decisions.  Anyone who can defeat Bill Gates repeatedly has my attention.

Myself, I won't resort to using Google Adwords advertising any longer - as they don't have a good system to filter out bogus clicks.
We spent $12,000 in two months on Adwords last year and had very little return on investment.

I don't mind, however, paying Overture for several hundred or thousand low frequency, highly targeted ads.  It turns out to be highly effective for our use.

I digressed, but here is what this article is really about.  How do YOU get your website to the top of Google? (Via Ultra Cart, that is.)

There are only six sure ways that we know of to get your website up to the top of Google at this time of confusion and senselessness.

1)  Figure out their algorithm and track the changes as they are made (have fun! I hope you're a mathematician and magician of sorts).
2)  Get lucky - as some of my competitors have done.   They've hit the mechanism and even they don't know how or why.

BEST IDEA ===>>3)  Name your domain a popular keyword or keyphrase exactly as your customers would type it on a Google SEARCH.

For instance, go to the Google search bar and type in the phrase 'best generators' - don't include the quotes.  That website comes up within
the top three organic listings, and arrived there there just days after it followed a link from another website with a decent PR (4/10)
on Google.  (Most new sites take 6-8 months to get on Google - thus the "sandbox" effect.)

4)  Put your product on Ebay as Froogle is listing a massive amount of Ebay products.  (Wouldn't be surprised to hear of a relationship in the future...)
5)  Advertise on Google Adwords.
6)  SET UP A FREE FROOGLE ACCOUNT and submit your feed that Ultra Cart creates for you! (Ultra Cart will automatically create your Froogle feed when you build your cart items - This is important because a Froogle feed can be very time consuming if you don't have you items in a database convertible into a tab delimited file from excel or some other database/spreadsheet software).

Froogle is also important as Google search is frequently mixing the Froogle merchant items just above the organic listings, and under the Adwords sponsored listings.
